Freeform Rules
#1Common sense must prevail.
Everything should be within reason (as far as fantasy goes) and should follow the thread.
That is to say:
1) Don't be bringing in a dragon from above or an all powerful mage that is undefeatable and kill everybody just to stir it up.
2)Stay in genre. No bringing in space aliens to kill a sneaky thief.
Be a good "role" player and we will all have a good time.
(This forum is moderated just in case somebody gets silly and carried away  )
Have a particular game you want to start or DM. Would be happy to give you your own topic that is all yours, just ask. -

#2Since there's two or three threads that seem to have died, I plan on deleting any thread that has been inactive for a year. That doesn't really make a difference now, but it will later. If anyone has a problem with that, let me know and I won't do it. -
Munchkins will be shot
#3Okay, since this has come up in some of the games, I'm going to put down some of the rules of gamer's ettiquete (sp?).
1. Do not take control of another player's character without permission. This includes actions in a fight and dialogue. This rule can be stretched in the case of NPCs.
2. Use magic responsibly. It is generally accepted that you cannot cast a spell of ultimate destruction with only a few words and gesture. If a character is capable of that, he will not be a PC. If you are going to cast a very powerful spell and have a specific idea about the effects, fine. Just warn the other players first and be prepared to change your action if they object.
3. If you are going to make a statement out of game, use OOC (out of character) to let the others know.
4. Please try to keep things from jumping about without explaining them. This helps the other players, and aids continuity a great deal. Also, try to keep things logical. Cause and effect applies, even here.
5. DO NOT KILL ANOTHER PLAYER'S CHARACTER UNLESS THE TWO OF YOU HAVE DISCUSSED IT THOUROUGHLY BEFOREHAND.
6. Allow players to write their own death scenes.
If anyone has a problem with this, get a hold of me and we'll talk about it. If you have a problem with another player, tell that player what the problem is first, either in PM, chat, or OOC messages. If a player contacts you with a problem, ty to work things out. If the problem continues, let me know and I'll try to take care of it. Anyway. Later. -

#4Since we have a lot of new players, I figured I'd point this out. If anyone is having a problem figuring out what to do or how to play, feel free to contact me through PM or email and ask any questions that you have. I'll answer what I can, and get answers for what I can't. -

#5OK, I have a question. Do we have a forum for characters or do we post our character in the game. It could get confusing if we don't know anything about the character we are supposed to be playing with. -

#6Well, you could post some background in an out of character (OOC) message, or you could reveal bits of background as they become relevant. See some of the threads in progress to see what I'm talking about. Alternatively, you could post a character write up in the Citadel Proper. That's what I usually do. -

#7Because there is a severe problem with people joining/starting game threads, and then vanishing, it might be a good idea for us to institute a new rule. If you're in a game, and you do not post for an extended period of time, we will drop your character and continue without you. We'll do it so that your character doesn't die, so if you come back and still want to play, you can join back up. Obviously, there will be more leeway if you know you're not going to be able to play for a while and you let us know. If you started a thread and then vanish, someone else will take over the thread and start steering it, so it may not go the direction you want. If anyone thinks this is a bad idea, let me know and why.
