Well... George Bush has provided me with alot of game and world ideas! The ad-campaign against Kerry's Vietnam record... Genius! My players will get their heroics dragged through the mud in a similar way for sure! Oooohh, wicked GM fun

There's something medieval about the world today...

Perhaps if some good has come from this it is not so bad, but I had hoped that the light would have been brighter for the continued darkness. The good news, at least he cant run again.

I don't fear for the free world.

I fear for the world that the US doesn't perceive as free.

    -------

    "Oh, you have a dictatorship?"

    "No."

"Oh, you are being unjustly oppressed?"

    "No."

"OK, uuum. Do you have access to the internet in your home?"

    "No."

"We will save you from your pitiful lives and give you democracy. ATTACK!!"

    "Errr, we have democracy already."

"Too late, we will prove later that you only believed you had democracy and the lack of internet has skewed your view of the world."

"My neighbor has internet, I have cable though."

-The last goes unheard as the US attacks and ruins everybody's internet connection and nobody has cable anymore either.

After conversing with several non-americans, both here in the Citadel (props to Mike and Ancient) as well as in person, I think Strolens comment is quite valid.

America, however, is NOT a democracy. This is a common misperception. Given that each state has electoral votes, and the entire system of the Electoral College makes America a republic...not a democracy.

Given the political power and influence of Religious groups in the US (One of the reasons our forefathers brought about the division of church and state) has made the land of the free not so free. Sure, we can still express ourselves, but only so long as we dont offend. We can express our love and affection only as long as it is deemed publicly acceptable (IE heterosexual) The list goes on and on. One man I knew, Polish BTW, said that America reminded him more of 18th century England when the country was dominated by Victorian puritan morals rather than the 'Land of the Free'

...I am ranting now, and I hate to rant but sometimes stuff just has to be said I guess.

It may be ranting, but it's still true.

But in any case, I'm sick of talking and/or hearing about politics. I've had my television unplugged for about three days now to get away from it all.
