1. Articles on the Main Page

   I think it would benefit us if we started an articles section of the site viewable off the main pages. I already think there are some great articles here already and perhaps they would get more attention if there was an Article Section on the main site.
   
   On top of that, there are going to be other threads that could turn into articles if the conversations were compiled into a readable format. Two examples off the top of my head are the "Interesting DMing Question" (http://www.rpgcitadel.com/guild/index.php?topic=153.0) and the "Time for some Evil Now (http://www.rpgcitadel.com/guild/index.php?topic=148.0) thread. There are some good little tidbits in there.
   
   There are three quality articles in the article forum already and the two more I mentioned, we already have a nice list of Articles to offer. All the comments can be edited and compiled as well somehow.
   
   After each article we could simply make a link to the thread in the forums for people to comment on, and the articles can continue to be updated as quality ideas are added to them.
   
   I was thinking of starting it as making it hard coded, but as I finish projects I could make it a simple form that can be filled out by anybody given permissions to that part of the site. They would just browse to that page and they would automatically get the edit features just like they do with their posts. Could update everything and add more articles as necessary. Could make a protected article forum for preposting compiled articles for other members to read through and edit to help out the compiler and make it as good as we can get it.
   
   Why do I bring this up? I think it is a good idea. Would increase the use and options of the site. Increase search engine hits perhaps drawing people towards specific articles. There are some really good ideas in there that need a more permanant, viewable home.
   
   I would be willing to do the compiling when I have time. Right now I am using most of my spare minutes to write down my whacky ideas and improve the webpage. If somebody had an interest in taking the time and doing this, that would be pretty cool. If we use the article forum idea one person can compile it and we can help refine it and once we have a polished product it only takes me a few minutes to throw up a webpage to hold it.
   
   Depending on how it goes and the response, I could make the form update thing a higher priority at any point, it wouldn't take me but a few hours to code the stuff to make the web based forms to keep it going.
   
   Just another shot in the dark and see if I hit anything. :chimera:

   There IS good stuff here. I was thinking about locking some cool threads, but this is better. Threads can keep growing, and articles will be updated whenever good ideas show up.

   Some of those discusions have become very good. Everyone has really gotten into the discusion of different points of view and given thier opinions like grownups. Bravo to everyone and lets give the discusions the notice they deserve.
