Let us use this thread to discuss the issues of hosting the buisness ourselves. I realize this is something that may occur at least six monthes down the road.

Issues which were mentioned in previous discussions (please if I missed any add them)

    1. Location: If in the future we do purchase our own servers I suggest it should be three phase processes.
Phase one: Rent office space from me out of the office I am building in my garage at the fee it is to cover the cost off the added electricity. The garage is detached from the house because of this we can claim it as a seperate buisness space. There would be no liability against the office space if the company should go belly up because the company would be renting the space from me.

Phase two: Rent a small office space in the Dayton area to house the buisness.

Phase three: Purchase our own facilities

    2. Connection: Time Warner Buisness class (cable) allows and encourages their business partners to do exactlly what we are doing. I had a long conversation with the small buisness representive of Time Warner and he said they would help us everystep of the way.

IF we want to go with T1 I have the connections with several service providers to set that up also.

    3. I can't think of anymore right now.

If your business is home-based, many local governments require that you obtain a home occupation permit. The cost is usually a flat fee or a percentage of annual receipts from your business. Call your city hall and ask them for zoning information in your area.
