  1. The City of Elimirth

In The city of Elimirth in the Wood Elf Realm was the Ranger Guild of Anawaith, people came to this wonderful building seeking rest or consul. Anawaith rangers, were now scarse in the building, almost empty and full more of travelers then people who lived there.

The war with the Dwarves was becoming more intense and rangers were needed in the field, But one Anawaith Ranger was there, Sentinel, who sat on the doorsteps of the Guild looking at the passing people, who were few in number. The city of Elimirth was rested on the ground, and they had adopted many ways from the humans, but they were still Wood Elves, rustic and suspicious of all other races save their own. Elimirth was far in the forest and protected by a city wall that was made sure to be taller then the trees, so it was very fortified.

Trading with the non-elf races had gone down for some years since the war, people were siding more often with the dwarves because they were more economically stronger then the Wood Elves who stayed to themselves. But Sentinel really didn't care anymore of the war, having fought against the dwarves for too long.

Sentinel stood up and stretched his muscle corded body, he wore only tunic and pants, some calf length boots. He looked around the empty city and stepped off the stairs he walked out into the city, some buildings were more then ten stories tall and the Castle of Elimirth was by far the largest, the Mayor's family of Elimirth lived there.

Sentinel went to a one story building and it was packed with people, this place was illegal, but it was kept a secret, there was shouts and yells as people routed for their fighters, the whole room was but a small bar empty with everyone around a twenty foot long ten feet wide railing that went down. Below two men down below fought bare knuckled brawling. Sentinel went to the bar and sat down ordering a drink he thought

The cloaked figure glided into the place and looked from side to side. He wasn't glideing because he could float, it just seemed that way to the people around him. It was actually that his movements were so graceful and quiet it gavethe impression of glideing. To eyes peered out of the darkness of the hood

Sentinel felt him in there, but few people gave the stranger heed, they had seen plenty of magic and weren't afraid of it, but they thought it was magic, Sentinel had been trained to see things others couldn't and he had noticed the person moved gracefully, and the stanger had the look of being able to fight, maybe he would join Sentinel's mercenary group, Skene wouldn't like it, Xavier wouldn't care, but it didn't matter what they thought, he was the leader, he motioned to the stranger to come over with a shrug

Noticeing the subtle movement made by the elf, the figure slowly at first but picking up speed, as he came to a stop before the elf and nodded. The pierceing eyes looking him up and down almost as if he were measuring him up. "Hail M'lord" The voice was not as one would expect from one so...dark and evil looking.

Sentinel seemed not to notice it, showing nothing in his face, he was strichly neutral and only loyal to himself, he had found nothing yet to put his loyalties elsewhere, and he was indeed interested by this stranger, fine he would be employer for once, though he wouldn't like it that much. He nodded to the stool next to him.
"I have a job oppurtunity, interested?"
His voice was smooth and light, like all elven voices, speaking in common tongue since he did not know the strangers native tongue

The figures hood shifted to the chair and then faced the elf agian. "It depends..what kind of job are you offering" The eyes would then shift to the left and right very quickly. He did not trust people, especially not ones in here.

He noticed him looking around and shrugged.
"Nothing in here to worry about, this place is illegal and if they started a fight guardsmen would come and close the place down."
He said to calm the person down.
"You know of the Border Wars being fought between the Wood Elves and Dwarves?"

The eyes would rest on the elf and narrow slightly. "Who dosen't? Yes, I am aware of these such battles. Why? Do you plan on...intervening?" He didn't move. He was a deathly silent. A creepy silent.

He didn't mind, he liked silence in a person, showed they had cunningness and were thinking, good he wanted the person to think he nodded and smiled slightly.
    "Yes, how much you want?"

"Normally I would not choose sides or except money, but because these are dwarves and this war has become such a problem, you name the price and I'll excpet." He grinned in darkness of the hood whether or not the elf could see it mattered not. A chance to kill agian would be paymeny enough for him.

He sensed the killer in the person and nodded.
    "500 gold coins."
He said softly, he had the money, having svaed it up from his adventures
  12. The City of Elimirth

    #12
He was back on his heels. 500 coins was a hefty price for takeing out dwarves, especially when killing those dwarves meant even more gold. "That sounds like a fine price to me. What do we need to do?"
  13. The City of Elimirth

    #13
He stood up as well and sighed thinking on it.
"North, help from us will be good to the Wood Elves, they need people who can live in the wilderness, mostly recon patrols and some assassinations."
  14. The City of Elimirth

    #14
Assissnations... The key to his exsitence lied in that very word. Scouting he could do also. Dwarves weren't as tough in the forest as they were in the mountian. Unless of course these were wild dwarves. "Sounds like fun...Count me in..."
  15. The City of Elimirth

    #15
He nodded and smiled slightly, most interesting to see what this stranger was good at.
"People call me Sentinel, you are?"
    He offered his hand
  16. The City of Elimirth

    #16
He extended his hand and shook his firmly. "Trakien Evonix, Assassin for hire," He retracted his arm and looked around agian. "When do we leave?"
  17. The City of Elimirth

    #17
    "Now."
He stood up and nodded to him.
"We'll be heading for Melmirth, where I can get some other men to join me."
He walked out the door and waited for Traiken to catch up."
  18. The City of Elimirth

    #18
He never left Sentinels side. Now that he had been hired he'd kinda act like a personal bodyguard whether he needed it or not. "Which way?"
  19. The City of Elimirth

"North, just a stop on our way further north, would you like to know of the people coming with us before getting there, just to prepare you."
He said as he shouldered his pack to fit more
  20. The City of Elimirth

"Dosen't matter...you lead I'll follow close behind." He never carried more then the cloak and the weapon arsenal inside, which was now hidden from view. He mostly live off of what he found...what evere he found.
  21. The City of Elimirth

    #21
    He nodded.
    "Just don't want you surpirsed."

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They reached Melmirth soon in only three days of unhindered travel and they came a small building.
"Well here's the headquarters. Care to go in and meet the group?"
  22. The City of Elimirth

    #22
Trakien hadn't slept the whole time of travel. Whether or not he liked it he was always keeping watch. He still had the cloak on and yet to reveal any of himself to the other. "If it must be done..."
  23. The City of Elimirth

    #23
He nodded and they walked in, the room was dark except for a table and a counter, where three people sat. They were amazingly deverse. One was obviously a Knight of Caladin, with his light plated silver armour with his shield at his side. He had jet black hair and steel grey eyes, and a tan face. The other was avery tall and big, his body hidden from a hat and trnechcoat, he had a long sword strapped across his back. The last was a small Drow who had the look of a killer
    "This is them."
    He came to the human.
"This is Sir Skene Whitewing, from Caladin."
He came to the large whatever he was.
"This is Xavier Kinslayer, don't know where he's from."
He came to the Dark Elf.
"And this is Azriel Azur, from the Kalingrad Moutians."
  24. The City of Elimirth

    #24
Trakien nodded to them all and looked to the Drow throught the darkness of his hood. Another one, just what the group needed. "Hello...I'm Trakien Evonix"
  25. The City of Elimirth

    #25
Skene stood up and clapped him on the shoulder.
"Good to have you aboard, can't wait to see what you can do."

Xavier stood and looked up, his skin was navy blue and his eyes were a violet color, when he spoke, his voice was a mixing of all accents.
    "Good luck."

Azriel stood up and nodded to him.
    "Trakien..."

    Sentinel looked at all them.
    "Well...let's go."
  26. The City of Elimirth

    #26
Trakien nodded and gestured for him to lead. "After you..." He stil hadn't taken off his cloak and he wondered if they'd get curious.
  27. The City of Elimirth

    #27
Sentinel nodded, Sentinel was a little curious, Xavier really didn't care, Skene was thinking on the same lines as Sentinel, and Azriel already knew. They walked out of the building and started north once again.

Azriel dropped back to talk to Trakien.
"Where are you from, I already know, we know each other as kin."
  28. The City of Elimirth

    #28
He stopped and looked at him. "All I can say is that I was born and raised where the sun will never shine...I traveled it and grew up there...killing what ever got in my way..."
  29. The City of Elimirth

    #29
He shrugged, and stopped as well.
    "Fine with me."
    He started to walk again.
"Why do you go with Sentinel?"
  30. The City of Elimirth

    #30
He followed close behind as usual "More chance to kill agian. Legally anyway."
  31. The City of Elimirth

    #31
    He nodded and laugh.
"You'll have your chance, and like always we'll meet challenges, Sentinel always gives us something challenging to do, and Skene, the damn fool, always seems to mess up making it humoruos."
  32. The City of Elimirth

    #32
"Sounds like a rough ride to me...Why don't we just kill Skene?"
  33. The City of Elimirth

    #33
    He shook his head.
"Skene is young, but he knows how to fight, I've seen him in combat. And we would have to deal with Sentinel and Xavier and which I doubt you would want to do."

Xavier turned his head as if listening

Skene was talking softly with Sentinel in the front of the line
  34. The City of Elimirth

    #34
He looked at the two and then back to the other.
"Skill or no skill...if he messes up I might have to "accidently" teach him a lesson. Not fatal, of course."
  35. The City of Elimirth

    #35
    He shrugged.
"Leave me out of it, Sentinel wouldn't of let Skene into this group if he didn't think he had skill. Just watch yourself."

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Night came and the group grounded to a halt. Skene gathered wood and they made a small fire, all of them sitting around it
  36. The City of Elimirth

    #36
He huddled next to the fire it kinda showing the inside of his hood. He was obviously young...for a dark elf. White strands of hair now fell from the hood as he bent over it.
"Not much happening in the around here..."
  37. The City of Elimirth

    #37
    Xavier shrugged.
"We're getting closer to the battle lines, where Elven and Dwarven forces struggle, most people have left this region."

    Sentinel nodded yawning.
"Yea, and there aren't many bad things out here."

    Skene muttered asleep.

Azriel was away from the fire leaning against a tree nearby
  38. The City of Elimirth

    #38
"Hmm...When do you suppose will be there by? And if we were that close wouldn't we hear at least one cry?"
He looked over at the one talking to him.
  39. The City of Elimirth

    #39
    Xavier shook his head.
"Not that close yet, this region was once a battleground and so no one lives here still, even if it is in peaceful territory."

    Sentinel fell asleep
  40. The City of Elimirth

    #40
"Used to be? Guessing by the way the battles going direction wise I'd say that the Elves are winning?"
