    DUCK TAPE
  13. Riddle me this!

    #53
Nope, Kal, it's actually spelled "duct tape". It was originally used to tape up gaps in the outer linings of air ducts in buildings.
  14. Riddle me this!

    #54
Yeah. You really shouldn't try to tape ducks. They get kinda annoyed, and then you come to the unwanted attention of folks like PETA.
  15. Riddle me this!

    #55
    Hehe, nah not duct tape.

You throw away the outside and cook the inside. Then you eat the outside and throw away the inside. What did you eat?

A joint of meat. You throw away the skin and cook the meat; then you eat the meat and throw away the bone.
  19. Riddle me this!

    #59
    A marshmellow :)

You throw away the wrapper holding them.
You burn the marshmellow over a campfire because a) you like it b) you are clumsy.
You then eat the wonderfully burned outside portion.
Then you throw away that nasty slimy center portion.

A king decided to let a prisoner try to escape the prison with his life. The king placed 2 marbles in a jar that was glued to a table. One of the marbles was supposed to be black, and one was supposed to be blue.

If the prisoner could pick the blue marble, he would escape the prison with his life. If he picked the black marble, he would be executed. However, the king was very mean, and he wickedly placed 2 black marbles in the jars and no blue marbles. The prisoner witnessed the king only putting 2 black marbles in the jars.

If the jar was not see-through and the jar was glued to the table and that the prisoner was mute so he could not say anything, how did he escape with his life?

    - Rational answers only please :P The Prisoner did NOT have access to high-tech weaponry :)
  27. Riddle me this!

    #67
    How about something like:

"The prisoner picked out a marble, but "accidentally" dropped it somewhere irretrievable/lost it before he could show it to the king. Obviously they would then have to look at the marble remaining in the jar and by this could deduce which one the prisoner had picked. The king looked in the jar and found only a black marble. He couldn't admit before his nobles that he'd cheated and put two black marbles in, so he said, "The prisoner must have picked out the blue marble, and so will go free."
  28. Riddle me this!

    #68
Couldn't he remove both marbles and reveal the king's ploy.

Or if not able to take two out, break the jar. It is only a jar right?

I like Iain's answer though. I would have him swallow it though, dropping it isn't irretrievable enough.
  29. Riddle me this!

    #69
Very good Iain. Correct - he has to hide the marble so they check the other one.

The only thing I can think of is a revolutions-dial (or whatever it's called: the thing that tell you how many revs the engine's doing) on a dashboard: the higher the needle goes the hotter it makes the engine, but the needle cannot get out of the glass case. But that's a very dodgy argument...

A woman came home with a bag of groceries, got the mail, and walked into the house. On the way to the kitchen, she went through the living room and looked at her husband, who had blown his brains out. She continued to the kitchen, put away the groceries, and made dinner.

    Expain the womans calmness.
