The Dreamkeeper

Selene's life revolves around a secret that not even she knows. It is when this secret is revealed to her; that she can go and fufill her own destiny... (inspired from the dream walkers thread)

Selene lives in an town however her town is very different... in fact, so different that it knows not the moon... that is to say that in this town there is never night. Why, this odd little town does not even have a name. The people of this town do not find it odd that there is no night and they would not know the meaning of 'sleep'; mainly because they have never known it to be any different. Selene, different from the other town folk, only wishes that something more would happen in the quite town. The only excitement is when a stranger comes into town. It is very bizzare, they would mysteriously come into the town and then a few days later disapear just as inexplicably as they came.
One day Selene was standing in a thicket just on the outskirts of town (she came here often). She wished she could go further but never did..... this time an old man came to her and asked her why she did not continue on? she thinking him just another mysterious stranger did not respond. The other then called her by name and she, puzzled, asked who he was. He said calmly I am the one who is going to let you in on the biggest secret you will ever learn..........
This world you live in it is a dreamscape one of many (of course she didn't know what he meant He explains all the details about beings dreaming (on earth possibly other worlds) and coming to this alternate reality that explains the strangers entering in and out of there the were merely dreamers that happened upon there dreamscape) The old man wants to prove that he is speaking the truth and so he places his hand upon her head and speaks words ancient in origin. Before she knew it there was a gentle warm sensation about her body and they were on a beach. She said slowly,... 'another dreamscape?' (they may or may not continue on to other dreamscapes it only serves to verify his statements) She asked, 'why are you telling me this?' A gleam came into the old man's sharp blue eyes, 'because it is up to you to save it.....'

( a history can be added her. Why she was chosen. I have my own but will spare you the reading.)

She asks what he meant and he tells her she is a dream keeper (an ancient race of beings from this alternate reality of dreamscapes that must protect the scapes from being tampered with.)

The reason she has been called: some unknown force is tampering with the dreamscapes; what is more dangerous it is believed he/she has entered the reality of the sleepers as they call them...
Selene is now faced with her adventure. She is given an amulet(or other old mysterious item) that will allow her to enter freely into the worlds and scapes however if the amulet was to get in to the wrong hands... yeah big trouble!

On her adventure she could meet new people and friends to help her along the way. I have not decided what the evil force is yet, most likely a rogue dreamkeeper.

Just to add a little spice into it, she could have met a dreamer in her scape and fallen for him in the few days he was there! She could meet him again in his own reality (she really would be the girl of his dreams!) then at the end be faced with either returning ot her own reality or staying with him!

the possibilities are endless!

The Anonymous was me! I don't get to post very offen cause I am so busy so when I do I rarely sign on cause I hate to be one of those people that get on only once or twice a month and even then can't stay long ! This plot caught my eye though I really like it! It intrigues my thought pattern and I like that it makes me think and that it turn gives me my own ideas! I would like to hear more about the amulet though ... Come on Adel!!! Add something else to plots or items something!

Wonderful. I'd probably handle it more darkly, but the core concept is great. Strong campaign opener - could be just what I'm looking for right now.

I thank you all for your comments and I hope to write a few other plots. I will have to wait for the right weather though!

I randomly found this 'Oldie' drifting around. The idea is good, but it needs to be executed better. How to use this story as a plot and so on. The grammer, etc etc needs fixing as well. Besides that, I must say that the 'Old School' plots have their charm either way.

Let's hope Adel will be back to stay one day.

Random brought me here. Very nice idea. Some good stuff to work with here.

This feels more like the premise of a novel or perhaps a video game. I think it would be an interesting one, especially with a variety of dreamscapes that all required attention.
