The Djavarga
100 word submission, rumors from the Burning Lands, south of Abodroc
The Djavarga are desert dwarves, with eyes like burnished gold. They are master smiths and weapon makers, and they wander the desert in great crawling mountains. They avoid conflict when possible, preferring trade to war. There are no female Djavarga and they consider men and women different races. If you cut them, they bleed sand and their tears are hard like glass. Djavarga shamen call storms of sand and lightning, create illusions and drive away djinn with strange crystal devices they carry. They worship the winds and lightning, and have strange rituals to turn prisoners into stone and metal golemsÂ

Agdan the Friendly Butcher
Agdan is an urbane and polite dwarf of older years, and is known to be a master butcher, a procurer of carcasses
Nice. You should make a whole codex of these! Crawling Mountains?! Must know more! Makes me wonder if they actually have crawling mountains, or if this is an embellished, re-interpretation written by someone who has never seen or met one of these desert dwarves. So again, i get that medieval (clueless but evocative) guide to the world's hidden corners vibe.
is the D silent?
You should really make a 'Gyde to ye Lands Surrounding Abodroc, and Oyer Regions' with all this pseudo-knowledge stuff.
What's a 'crawling mountain'? Is it just a phrase that's above my head, or something different?
I'm picturing huge, gray-brown, nomadic tents that look 'rocky', embellished a thousand-fold by some Marco Polo type, who never quite made it to this part of the Burning Lands, but was close, and wrote down legends he heard, from those that have seen the 'crawling mountains'. :)
let us see where this imagery takes us
short-dwarf short,
shinning yellow eyes,
androgynous,
commerce minded
sand
desert people
nomadic craftsmen
traveling around in a giant crawling communal dwelling
work with anthropomorphic metallic beings
'I can't abide these Djavarga, disgusting creatures.'
Great 100 word sub!
Scras, your 100 word subs remind me of an interesting piece of art where some action is caught midmotion and the mind can't help but start filling in the details.
Solid 100, practical and artsy but I hate dwarves! 4/5
commenting challange
I can't phrase it any better than what the other Moon said.
