Epub Issue 4
#1In 2015 Scras said, "Hey let's do an Epub."
Then Scras said "The Epub needs a unfying theme or topic"
I'm paraphrasing here, but you get the idea.
We have done three Issues thus far (you can find links to them all at www.exftc.com). The themes for the first three issue have been
Shapeshifters
Wizards
Steeds
We need a new theme for issue 4.
This poll will run for 30 days and everybody gets three votes.
Help us pick a theme, and then pitch in and write a story for issue 4. -
Re: Epub Issue 4
#2I went very Lovecraftian: Dreams, Eldrich, Books -
Re: Epub Issue 4
#3And the ''Eldritch Horrors'' theme appears to be in the lead, much to my delight. :cthulhu: -
Re: Epub Issue 4
#4Man, there's a lot of Lovecraft fans here,(me too) -
Re: Epub Issue 4
#5I wouldn't even try to put out a "Lovecraft" themed issue without including Maggot's prose. His style, more than any of ours, is closer to Lovecraft or Edgar Rice Burroughs. -
Re: Epub Issue 4
#6So is it official? -
Re: Epub Issue 4
#7No, let's give it some more time. A lot regulars haven't voted. -
Re: Epub Issue 4
#8With Eldritch Horror as the front-runner, I'm taking some steps to prepare for this I just picked up the Anthology, American Gothic Tales. This includes those you would have expected Lovecraft, Poe, Stephen King, and Ray Bradbury but Robert Chambers (who Muro introduced me to) noticeably missing. -
Re: Epub Issue 4
#9I know there are other votes out there -

Re: Epub Issue 4
#16Hey all!!!!
I am promising 72 hour turnaround time on reading your work for issue 4, I'm not a REAL editor but will be happy to give broad feedback, quickly. All you have to do is ask. -
Re: Epub Issue 4
#17:cthulhu:
It is official. The theme for issue 4 is Eldritch Horror.
A Gothic Landscape;
Unspeakable Corruption;
The Smallness of the Human Condition;
A Touch of Madness and a Taste of Power;
And Prose so Purple you'd think it was living it with Ike Turner;
Yup subbest sub-genre of the sub-genre. I am excited and a little intimidated.
The epub has pushed me and others to write more, and to write more complete and accessible stories. It isn't easy and I have started more stories than I finished, but I did finish stories. And it is fun. I have enjoyed reading and working on all the stories.
Let's shoot for completed and publishable drafts (proofing and copy editing aside) by the end of June. -
