Stomach bug's been going back and forth between me and my daughter. My immunosuppressed wife is miraculously (suspiciously?) unaffected.

Spring break should have been writing, but was mostly housework, field trips with the baby, and medical care of the baby (stomach bug/mouth injury).

Busy at work, too. Just finished 3rd quarter, now in the final quarter of the year.

Trying to write a royalty generator, but the generator editor is having issues.  :(

   Work

   Gardening

Trying to get back on the exercise routine

Reading new books (Eclipse Phase, Aeon Trinity)

And writing both here and on my novel. The avalanche of stuff here? That's Expanded Universe material from my Cosmic Era novel.

   Much soul-searching / self-contemplation.

With this thread title popping up repeatedly...

How about a "Why Are You Here??!" companion thread :P wherein Strolenites, new and old, wax poetic about why they *are* here.

    Thanks guys :)
Bsc, general to start. Will have to pick a major at the end of the year, and so far it's gonna be a tossup between Physics, Mathematics or Geology.
I'm gonna try and push it to get honours or PhD, but that depends on a lot of factors, such as money and whether I can handle it with my daughter.

Mood swings that caught up with me due to unemployment and disenchantment with current writing projects (put my novel on hold, started collab quest sub with the other Moon and an article for the Citadel but both stagnating atm). Anyway, now I'm working casual and thinking of coming back semi-active (but then again, that's been my status most of the time, I'm almost perpetually lurking ever since I joined up except for periods of active submission and commenting).

Wow, SE, very ambitious of you- Honours should be okay (still undergrad so covered by HECS and besides only a year). PhD would be...

Thus begins my vacation week. I technically started Friday, but my wife was vacation as well, so I was with her. The writing I did was done sitting next to her while she was working on some sewing projects of her own. She goes back to work this morning and I have the rest of the week off. I have on my agenda getting the house cleaned up because in two weeks we are both going on real vacation and there is going to be pet sitter coming over. I have some yardwork that needs to be done, like cleaning up after the drain incident (details on my FB page) and I have some woodwork that needs to be finished up. It's rainy today, so that will likely have to wait. Not going to use wood stain or power tools in the house. Seems like that should be a rule, or common sense.

    So yeah.
