As an only child Jenette spent her early years, from age 7-14 in the woodlands of Vermont living in a log cabin, her parents care takers of a 80 acre stretch of wood owned by a wealthy business manger from Cape Cod who rarely visited except during hunting season. Having been raised in such a secluded environment without running water or electricity by parents who were self professed "survivalists" she was pushed to be self reliant and self sufficient from an early age joining the Army National Guard during her senior year of high school.
Within the national guard she served as an infantry soldier, assigned to supply truck operations supporting the states Alpha Company Tank brigade for two and a half years
before finding herself discharged from active duty under the militaries DADT (Don't Ask, Don't Tell) policy after moving in with her high school sweet heart Rosella. From there she worked several odd jobs and furthered her education in survival skills and briefly pursued a career in law enforcement, before auditing multiple college courses on creative writing, computer, and science classes, where she first met her college companions and fellow role-players that would become fast friends in the years to follow.
Now over a decade later she walks with a cane and her smile reveals silver incisors, remnants of less pleasant experiences in recent years, her own life having taken yet more unexpected turns in previous months until she found herself riding with another recently acquired life partner, Carly and her loyal canine companion Lucky to reunite with old friend and roll the dice once more. Little did she know her life was about to change..

Rangers surprise opponents when rolling 1-3 on 1d6 and are themselves surprised only when rolling 1 on 1d6.
Tracking is possible both outdoors and underground (in dungeons and similar settings). Underground, the ranger must have observed the creature to be tracked within 3 turns (30 minutes) of the commencement of tracking, and the ranger must begin tracking at a place where the creature was observed. Table 63 lists the ranger's chance to track creatures underground in various situations.
Elven abilities/skills: infravision 60', +1/+1 hit/dam with bow and sword,
Remembering:
1) When in a calm state, they can tap their vast reserve of knowledge. This allows them a huge plus to any check to know just something about any field of knowledge and lore. In calm times, this will extend to languages as well. (Those they don’t know, they can often figure out or make a good guess at).
2) Given some time to reflect on a situation, they can perform any “non modern” action without negative modifiers for lack of skill. Example: They might have ridden a horse sometime in the last three thousand years, so they just have to spend a moment to remember how. They won’t know how to pilot a new fangled Steam Jack because they are a recent invention.
