After much thought I decided I will pledge myself to the Weaver's Guild!

Thus I start my quest and have only one question - can I use my last submission (the Everlife dungeon) as one of the subs, if I have written it before deciding to join the guild?

Normally the answer would be no, but since you submitted it just this morning I will make an exception.  I've forgotten to put the freetext on quest subs before, and this is not much different, imo.

Are you planning on building another two subs around the Everlife Dungeon, then?

Thank you for letting me start with that. Yes, Gossamer's comment got me thinking on where the spark came, so I thought it will be better to make it more complete than start looking for other ideas.

Excellent.  I'll comment and vote on "Ife and Eath" as soon as I'm able.  Please use this thread to help track your progress on the quest requirements -- it makes it so much easier for me to confirm your membership once you're done.  The idea you left on Murometz' Dwarven Pets counts towards this quest, but I might not have found it on my own.  Good luck!

I was going to make a list of the completed requirements later, as I still cannot suggest submissions. But until I get the experience, here's the list:

Updated the list with my latest submissions and ideas. Take a look and tell me what you think.

Good work, Elbin.  The only suggestion I have is to put in how many votes you currently have and the current avg. score for each sub next to it since that is also a requirement for this Guild. Other than that, just want to say hi to you as an existing member to an imminent member. Currently, it's just me and Dossta and it's good to get some new blood.

Hello, Moonlake. I added the votes and scores as you suggested. I only need some more feedback on the final plot submission to see if I should write another one or this one will pass the test of the Citadel.

It's strange that there are so little members of the Weaver's Guild. It gives the opportunity to write about everything you wish, in contrast with the others that focus on specific themes or types of subs. The creation of interrelations is the interesting twist, but maybe it is what makes people think it is too hard to do.

So we have to change that :). I'll post an exercise in combining two random subs later today and we'll see how it will be viewed by the majority.

Well, I'll take a look at your pieces soon and in particular, the one still needing more votes. Dossta is currently MIA but he has committed himself to reading everything Weaver Guild sub as Guild Leader so b/w the 2 of us, should get the sub hurdle over soon.

Well, I think doing interrelations based on random subs would be hard (haven't tried it myself but this is a requirement for progressing in this Guild so I'll do this sooner or later) although for my own ideas, more often that not, I start off with 1 sub and at least get 2 more will spawn off of the original. But actually, I'm sort of looking forward to doing some more work with existing subs as well. Actually, I have 2 in-work articles that will link to an existing sub each but they are obviously less ambitious in scope.

Actually, Val has also pledged to join but he says he's undertaking ambitious projects so....

I look forward to reading your next post.

Sorry guys, long weekend here.  I'm planning to read over Elbin's latest sub by the end of the day.

Trying to decide what to do with the last requirement, though -- suggesting subs on other people's submissions.  Elbin won't be able to do that on his own until he reaches level 5 (3 more subs, on top of what the Weavers actually require).  If you have that many in-work subs planned and don't mind waiting, Elbin, we can sit back and let you get to that part when you're good and ready.  Otherwise, I may consider allowing you to "suggest by proxy" -- getting Moonlake or I to suggest the subs on your behalf.  It's still you doing the work that way (hunting down the connections), and it would set an interesting precedent.

What would you like to do?

I'm tempted to set the precedent, but I think it will be an exercise in patience for me to do the three subs needed. Then I will have worked for the right to be part of the guild and won't feel like I went too fast and simply for the sake of getting in.

At the rate you're writing subs, it will take no time at all :)  It wasn't originally my intention to ban entrance to members below level 5, so I may have to consider providing an alternate requirement in the future (once your entrance quest is complete).  Looking forward to reading more of your stuff, Elbin, and thanks for sticking in there!

Wow, this is probably one of the best BH to Rock Star fairy tale stories we have seen at the Citadel for a long time. Congrats on jumping right into the storm!!

Five suggestions are done, and it is now up to the elders to decide if I have passed the test of the Weaver's Guild.

Ideas verified, suggestions validated, and submissions reviewed.  All looks good!

Welcome to the Weavers, Eldin.  Feel free to clear out a room in the Tower for your private study and retreat.  You may collect your robe and stole from the imp at the front desk (don't mind her attitude, she doesn't like anyone).  Definitely looking forward to seeing more excellent work from you in the future. :D

Hurray. In your honor, I have created a new word in your honor.

    Jiklhy

It has no definition, but it is yours!

Thank you! I will look for its meaning in the path of the thread!

Congrats! Finally, not a two-man guild any more. btw, you need to change your stats: for Weavers, we need to distribute at least 3 pts to Dex and Int and Strolen has just changed it so that level 1 starts with 18 stat pts.
  20. Re: Elbin's dedication - drawing paralels

    #20
I thought that points were simply for fun, but I will promptly go and increase my stats if it's necessary. :)

Stats are fun -- deadly serious fun.  I don't know how Strolen plans on using them in the future, so I want to make sure all Weavers are as smart and flexible as possible!
